touches and flirtation
How do touchscreens even work? Like smartphones and tablets, touch monitors have capacitive displays: the screen generates a weak electrical field under the protective pane, which is disturbed when touched with a finger or a special pen. Top: The Hannspree interprets these signals particularly precisely and reacts to touches with up to ten fingers at the same time. One finger is usually enough to operate Windows; Users usually only need two or three for zoom gestures to enlarge or reduce, for example photos or documents.
It’s also always a question of the quality of the touch surface, how well it all works: The surface of the Hannspree feels pleasantly smooth, but the distance between the display and the glass surface takes some getting used to – but that’s criticism at a high level. You get used to it after a few hours. Nice: The touch of a finger works very precisely and without annoying delays. And our test winner is particularly fast – commands arrive after just 75 milliseconds (ms).
Nice big
At 27 inches, the Hannspree is a large touch monitor, but it still shows content in somewhat outdated Full HD with 1920×1080 pixels and a 60 Hertz refresh rate – that’s old-fashioned. After all, an IPS panel is installed, which theoretically ensures fast image changes and a low viewing angle dependency, which is particularly important for touch monitors. The Hannspree can convince here, the image change is significantly faster at 12.8 ms than in the competition.
Acceptable brightness
An important prerequisite for high image quality are decent LEDs, which ensure strong and even illumination. The Hannspree offers an acceptable maximum brightness of 315 candelas per square meter (cd/m2). But the color fidelity is really good at 96.5 percent. This makes it easy to watch films and edit pictures, because the monitor was completely convincing in the visual test.
Hardly any connections
It doesn’t matter whether it’s a touchscreen or a normal monitor: the equipment also counts. At least the Hannspree has an HDMI and VGA connection, but there is no DisplayPort input. This is a pity. A USB hub is not granted to many monitors with a touch function and the Hannspree also has to do without it. That’s a pity too. After all, he has several audio jacks.
