BVB boss Hans-Joachim Watzke cannot follow his Dortmund team’s top game against FC Bayern Munich on Saturday. Reason: an infection.

FC Bayern Munich meets Borussia Dortmund at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday evening. Now it has become known that BVB boss Hans-Joachim Watzke (63) cannot watch the game in the Munich stadium. As reported by “Sky” among other things, the managing director of the current table leader suffers from an infection. He is only missing the second game in his 18-year tenure. The timing of his illness could not have been more unfortunate: On the one hand, his BVB is currently one point ahead of the record champions in the table.

On the other hand, there will be a reunion with the former coach of Dortmund, Thomas Tuchel (49), in the Allianz Arena. During the week, Tuchel took over the fortunes of Dortmund rivals FC Bayern Munich for the ousted Julian Nagelsmann (35). Tuchel trained Borussia from 2015 to 2017. One reason for the end in 2017 was given, among other things, differences with the club leadership. After the bomb attack on the BVB team bus, a dispute broke out between Watzke and Tuchel, which subsequently led to the estrangement of the coach and those responsible.
