  • After RTL “I’m a star – get me out of here!” canceled last year, the show is now back on.

  • The participating celebrities have already traveled to South Africa, where the production will take place.

  • However, the entire list of candidates is still pending.

  • “I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!” starts on January 21st and then runs daily.

With the upcoming 15th season of “I’m a Star – Get Me Out of Here!” the German broadcaster RTL has been moderately lucky so far. The usual implementation in the Australian jungle was relatively quickly off the table due to the corona pandemic and the associated travel regulations, and the alternative production of the TV show in South Africa was suddenly on the brink as a result of the Omicron variant. In the end, however, a decision was made: The jungle camp will go through.

And so the – more or less famous – candidates are already in the starting blocks, who will roll out their sleeping mats and take on jungle tests from January 21st. RTL intercepted some of them before they left and thus officially confirmed the first participants.

For example, there is actress Anouschka Renzi. The 57-year-old has already won 13 times for “I’m a star – get me out of here!” inquired, this year she has now accepted. This was mainly out of financial interest, because the pandemic has only caused her to get hold of a few roles, Renzi told RTL News shortly before her departure from the airport.

Glööckler wants to prevent sweat

“I have no desire to spend my life insurance, my securities,” explains the actress. Renzi sees himself as a polarizing jungle camper: “Either you like me a lot or you don’t like me at all.” But you will try to “not be so own” and to avoid stress with other candidates.

Meanwhile, Renzi’s jungle camp colleague Harald Glööckler has completely different worries: The 56-year-old designer has absolutely no desire to struggle with sweating in South Africa. That’s why he had his armpits treated with botox before departure. This should prevent the production of sweat. “A lady doesn’t sweat,” Glööckler explains the botox appointment to “RTL News”. And since, in his opinion, freshening up can’t hurt, he also had Botox injected into his forehead.

Cordalis wants to give father “full credit”

Yet another candidate is working on the mental preparation for the jungle camp before the start of the season. Lucas Cordalis (54) has the goal firmly in sight: He wants to follow in the footsteps of his father Costa Cordalis. The now deceased pop star won the first season of “I’m a star – get me out of here!” In 2004. “I hope that I am cut from the same cloth and that I do him credit,” says Lucas Cordalis to “RTL News”.

Wife Daniela Katzenberger (35) has involuntarily prepared the budding jungle camper for the rigors of the TV show. “Sometimes what my wife cooks comes relatively close to a jungle test like this,” says Cordalis with a laugh. “Honey, I’m sorry, but it’s true!”
