Hardly any support for traffic light parties: Half of those who have not been vaccinated vote AfD

Hardly any support for traffic light parties
Half of the unvaccinated vote AfD

The thesis was put forward in spring: there is a connection between the propensity to vaccinate and the choice of alternative for Germany. This is very controversial. However, the evaluation of a Forsa survey supports the thesis. The party “Die Basis” is also very popular with unvaccinated people.

According to a survey, around two thirds of all unvaccinated voters in Germany voted for parties from the right-wing spectrum in the federal election. 50 percent of the unvaccinated voters ticked the AfD in the federal election, as the “Spiegel” reported, citing a Forsa survey. Forsa analyzed socio-demographic data from a total of 3,048 people who were surveyed between the end of September and mid-October.

The proportion of votes of the AfD, some of the right-wing extremists, among the unvaccinated would be almost five times as high as in the general population: In the election, the AfD received 10.3 percent of the second votes. According to the survey, another 15 percent of those questioned voted for the party “Die Basis”, which is close to the so-called lateral thinkers. This new establishment won a total of 1.4 percent of all votes in the federal election.

SPD and Greens extremely unpopular

The study was originally commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Health by Jens Spahn, as the “Spiegel” reported on. The ministry had published the results weeks ago – but without information on the party preference of the non-vaccinated. This was not part of the order.

Forsa analyzed this part of the study on its own initiative, as the opinion research institute confirmed to the “Spiegel”. Accordingly, the three largest parliamentary groups in the Bundestag are extremely unpopular among unvaccinated people. According to the report, the SPD voted only 5 percent of the unvaccinated; the Social Democrats won the election with 25.7 percent of all votes.

The Union came to 6 percent among the non-immunized; that was well below their election result of 24.1 percent. According to Forsa, 3 percent of the survey participants voted for the Greens; in the federal election, the party received a total of 14.8 percent. The liberals, who repeatedly advocate looser corona measures, came up with 10 percent, the Left Party 4 percent.
