Hardy Kruger Jr. and his wife Alice speak for the first time on the subject that has long bothered them.
If you experience them together, you will feel how perfectly they fit together. But when Hardy Krüger Jr., 53, and his wife Alice, 44, fell in love four years ago, they were faced with a practical test right at the beginning of the relationship – about which the actor and the PR manager now speak publicly for the first time.

Gala: Together you brought seven children into the marriage. Has a child together never been an issue?
Alice: In fact, we were concerned with that just a few weeks after we met. I explained to Hardy at the time that I could no longer have children. Because my mother and grandma had cervical cancer, I had my uterus removed as a precaution.
Hardy Krüger Jr.: “I couldn’t take it if something happened to her”
How did you deal with this news, Hardy?
Hardy: I admire my wife for her brave decision. She did just the right thing. I want to grow old with Alice. I couldn’t take it if something happened to her.
You continued to be confronted with the subject of pregnancy.
Alice: Shortly after our wedding, questions came from outside. Especially when I had eaten a little too much or held my handbag in front of my stomach. And there was always whispering.
That sounds pretty stressful.
Alice: Yes, the pressure made me very sad. But Hardy gave me strength. Especially in moments when I didn’t know whether I could still feel like a fully fledged woman.
How do you remember that time, Hardy?
Hardy: At some point we decided to just look at ourselves and realized that we were enough of each other. We want to raise our seven children and fill the time we have with whatever we want.
Family is the most important thing for the couple
That included you adopting Antonia, Alice’s eldest daughter.
Hardy: It was important to me because we are so complete as a family. Growing up without a father is not easy for any child. And Antonia’s father died before she was even born.
Today we both arrived.
You have also suffered a few blows of fate yourself, Hardy.
Hardy: Up until the moment I met Alice, my life was marked by a lot of ups and downs and a great deal of restlessness. I also describe this in my new book “Turning Points”. Today we both arrived. I can say: the crises have made me stronger.
What do you have in common as a couple?
Hardy: We both know exactly what we want because we have often seen it not work.
What are your seven children doing today?
Alice: My sons Theo and Tamino live with us in Berlin. Antonia already has her own apartment.
Hardy: My two boys are in Munich, Leon is now 26 and a budding photographer. His brother Noah works as a programmer. And my daughters live in Austria with their mother. We see them regularly and they enjoy spending their holidays with us.
