Media claims Prince Harry canceled a fundraising gala because it got in the way of his Netflix deal.
Prince Harry (35) and Duchess Meghan (39) have come under fire after they surprisingly withdrew their participation in a fundraising event for the "Invictus Games". Harry has been the patron of the Paralympic sporting event for disabled soldiers for years. "It's very bad behavior and everyone at Invictus is bitterly disappointed," a source told the Sunday Times.
The event was a music and comedy show that featured stars like Beyoncé, 39, and Ed Sheeran, 29. Harry and Meghan were supposed to help raise funds, a total of one million British pounds was the goal. The plan also provided for the event to be broadcast via Amazon afterwards.
And that could be exactly the problem: Amazon is Netflix's biggest rival – Meghan and Harry have only just signed a mega-deal with the streaming service. The lawyers of the two are said to have canceled the "Invcitus" plan shortly before the announcement of the Netflix deal, it continues. An "Invictus" spokesman named another reason for the failed donation gala: It was postponed due to the corona pandemic.
