In an interview granted in 2017 to Entertainment Weekly, Rupert Grint confided that he had seriously considered stopping his acting career shortly after the final part of the “Harry Potter” saga, which is broadcast on TF1 this Thursday evening.
It’s not easy to grow up and experience adolescence when shooting a saga as time-consuming as Harry Potter. The trio of actors in the lead thus mobilized on eight films between 2001 and 2011. Rupert Grint, alias Ron Weasley, thus explained in 2017 to have lived in a kind of bubble during all these years. And this is also one of the reasons that would have prompted him to want to stop his acting career shortly after the filming of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, which TF1 is broadcasting this Thursday evening.
“We had such intense and intimate years in this bubble!” he explained in an interview given to Entertainment Weekly. “When I started [NDR : à jouer], it was something I had never aspired to. I did a little theater in school, stuff like that. But it wasn’t something I dreamed of.”
“I mean, I fell in love with acting while doing it”continued the British comedian. “But I thought, ‘Is that really what you want to do? I want to be able to live a little. “I felt like I had missed out on a lot of things”.
Rupert Grint finally continued his career after the magic saga. On the big screen, we have seen the actor in the credits of Moonwalkers, but it is mainly for television that he has worked since, with roles in Snatch, Sick Note and, more recently, the Apple series Servant of M Night Shyamalan.
