This April 13, 2022 finally releases the third and last opus of Fantastic Beasts in the cinema. The opportunity for all potterhead to live the adventures of Dumbledore and Grindelwald on the big screen and to see this famous pact between the two greatest wizards of all time. And even though the highly anticipated Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy will take place several years before the events of the film, many magical creatures will indeed be present, and we can even take care of it! As a reminder, the scenario of the game takes place exactly in 1890, two years before Albus, very young, entered school. Thus, Norbert Scamander will not be present in the game but we can do a bit like him: tame Fantastic Beasts, save them from poachers and offer them a safe and peaceful place like in his suitcase.
Caring for Fantastic Beasts in Hogwarts Legacy
We saw it in the long gameplay trailer presented in March 2022, Hogwarts Legacy will offer you the possibility ofhave a magical greenhouse in the Room of Requirement. There, it will be possible to make housing, that is to say, to decorate the place as you see fit with houses, furniture and other outdoor objects. You can also place there all the fantastic animals that you have managed to save or tame during your adventure as well as take care of them by feeding and brushing them, for example. In short, a true haven of peace.
Here are all the fantastic animals that we have managed to identify in the various trailers and images of the Harry Potter Hogwarts Legacy game, which you can either ride or add to your Magical Talon. Feel free to comment if you spotted other animals that we didn’t put in this list.
The Thestral
This is probably the animal that caught the most attention of fans who watched the State of Play. The reason ? The player is able to see a Thestral herd, but we know that only wizards and witches who witnessed the death can see these black horses. We therefore assume that the character we will play in Hogwarts Legacy will have a very dark past and that is why he arrives at Hogwarts in the 5th year directly.
The Niffler
A true icon of the Fantastic Beasts movies, the niffler will be present in Hogwarts Legacy! Greedy for gold and precious objects, we imagine that we may be able to find them at Gringotts or in caves filled with treasures.
The Hippogriff
It is one of the first fantastic animals that we see on Hogwarts Legacy and especially the main mount that your wizard can use (apart from the broom) to fly and explore the surroundings of Hogwarts. We remind you that it is a gigantic open world.
Mooncalf
Very shy, the Mooncalf mainly comes out of its burrow in herds and, when the Moon is in the sky, it likes to perform rather complex dances. It is said that because of these dances, the Mooncalf leave traces in the wheat fields (crop circles) and that the Muggles then interpret them as extraterrestrial signs.
The Demiguise
It is not really known if this monkey who can make himself invisible will be present in Hogwarts Legacy. For the moment, only a statuette bearing his likeness has been observed in the trailer. In the movies, Norbert owns a Demiguise called Douglas.
The Dragon
There are all kinds of dragons in the Harry Potter universe and the one in the image below regularly appears in the trailers and images of the Hogwarts Legacy game. He appears to have been corrupted by Dark Magic, possibly by the villains of the story.
The Grapphorn
Beware of this kind of rhinoceros who does not hesitate to rush into the heap if he feels threatened. But don’t panic, we can obviously tame it and scratch its back once in our Magic Greenhouse.
The Fociferous
We all remember this adorable moment in the trailer where we see a young Hufflepuff showing the hero the hatching of a small yellow Focifer. A few minutes later, we also see a cave filled withbirds of all colors in their adult form.
The Flerer
An adorable little cat known for his intelligence and clairvoyance. In general, females can have litters of 8 little Flounderers. One wonders how the breeding system will work in the game.
For subscribers absent at the moment, we will note the Bowtruckle, the kind of stick insect that Norbert always has with him or the Billywig (blue fly). Note of course that other creatures (not considered Fantastic Beasts) are present in the game: Centaurs for example, Trolls, Dementors or even Acromentulae.
Present on many images of Hogwarts Legacy, do the Quidditch stadium and the flying broomsticks necessarily mean that we will be able to participate in matches? Let’s take stock of all the gameplay clues.
