Eight films for the Harry Potter saga, and eight photos for this quiz dedicated to the most famous wizard of the 2000s. It’s up to you to find which section each of these images corresponds to!
It was June 26, 1997 that was published in the United Kingdom Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the first book in the upcoming saga dedicated to the young wizard of Hogwarts, born from the imagination of the novelist JK Rowling. In France, the book appeared a year later, on October 9, 1998, translated under the title Harry Potter at the school of wizards.
In all, seven novels will be published over a period of ten years until 2007 and, at the same time, the public will be able to discover the first adaptation to the cinema in 2001. These are eight films which will be produced in total, the last novel The Deathly Hallows having been separated into two distinct feature films, and four directors who will have followed one another to transcribe on the screen the magical universe of the novelist.
It is first of all Chris Columbus that we find behind the camera for the first two films of the franchise. A director well known to the general public, he who had directed two of the most popular comedies of the 90s ten years earlier, Maman j’ai missed l’avion and Madame Doubtfire.
We then find for the third part The Prisoner of Azkaban, the director Alfonso Cuaron, who will therefore only sign one episode of the saga, a real springboard for this Mexican filmmaker then still little known to the general public, and who will subsequently direct The Sons of Men and above all the box office hit Gravity.
A single film also for Mike Newell with The Goblet of Fire, before he gives way for the last four films to David Yates, who will also be in charge of directing the three Fantastic Beasts, films derived from the Harry universe. Potter set some sixty years before the action of the original films.
