The literary saga Harry Potter born from the imagination of the novelist JK Rowling at the end of the 90s was entitled to no less than eight adaptations on the big screen between 2001 and 2011. A large room under the rubble

The Great Hall was one of the first and most imposing sets ever built. Seeing the production’s oldest set transformed into rubble was a shock for the production team, actors and technicians. Daniel Radcliffe (whose series was just canceled amid total indifference) remembers: “It was hard to see such a majestic building demolished so suddenly.” Rupert Grint adds: “It was very hard. We grew up in these settings, and it was difficult to see it all wiped out.“

A very present lining

During filming, Emma Watson had to leave for a few weeks to go to University. In certain crowd scenes it is therefore not Emma Watson but her double that we can see.

Magnetic field

To create the magnetic field that emanates from the wands, the technicians took inspiration from jellyfish, as Tim Burke explains: “Jellyfish have an incredible texture but are translucent and emit a phosphorescent light. This is what gave us the idea of ​​the magic wand effect which provides this impression of naturalness.“

Turnaround

Actress Emma Thompson, who has played Professor Sibylle Trelawney since the beginning, had decided to abandon her role for the last two films. However, she went to the set to play her character once again.
