Harry Potter Return to Hogwarts: Rupert Grint Wasn’t Really There

The rumor that has been swelling for several weeks has just been confirmed: Rupert Grint was not present during the filming of the episode “Harry Potter: Return to Hogwarts”!

On January 1, Salto posted the special episode of Harry Potter, entitled Return to Hogwarts, on its platform, which saw the leading actors of the famous saga come together to go behind the scenes of films.

But at the time of the broadcast, a persistent rumor had circulated claiming that Rupert Grint was not alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson. And it would seem that the fans were right: the interpreter of Ron Weasley, who said he was ready to find the magical world of JK Rowling, was not in London with his co-stars.

The presence in the credits of a Toronto-based film crew had already tipped viewers off. But it was an Instagram post by Caitlin Cronenberg, photographer in charge of shooting Rupert Grint for the poster for the special, which confirmed the rumor: Rupert Grint was filming in Canada when the other actors in the films gathered in London.

In the caption of the photo, she states, “I was in charge of the shoot for Rupert Grint, who was filming in Toronto and unable to travel to London for the photoshoot.”

The scenes where the trio is reunited in the common room of Gryffindor are therefore the result of a video montage which explains why certain reactions of Rupert Grint were strange, the actors surely interacting by interposed screen.

However, the part where Emma Watson and Rupert Grint talk alone, without Daniel Radcliffe, was probably shot at another time in a real way. The young woman had to make the trip to be able to have a more lively exchange with the actor.

Moreover, many fans on Twitter have noticed that, even if Emma wears the same outfit and has the same makeup and hair, she does not wear the same nail polish in the two sequences, thus suggesting that they were filmed at different times.
