Harry Potter: this Fantastic Beasts character removed from the saga?

It may not have escaped your notice: Porpentina Goldstein (Katherine Waterston) is totally absent from the promo for “Fantastic Beasts 3”. Is it because his character has disappeared from the saga?

On April 13, all the characters who were alive at the end of the previous episode will be back in Fantastic Beasts 3. Even the villain Grindelwald who now has the features of Mads Mikkelsen and no longer Johnny Depp. However, after two trailers and a gallery of posters, someone is missing.

Although central to the first two installments of this saga set several decades before the events of Harry Potter, Porpentina ‘Tina’ Goldstein is conspicuous for the moment by her absence, as no image of Katherine Waterston in the David Yates film has been unveiled. And she’s not on any of the eighteen character posters, while creatures like the Niffler or Pickett got theirs.

Auror attached to the Magical Congress of the United States when we meet her in the first film, Tina must then become the wife of Norbert Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), if we believe the book Fantastic Beasts written by JK Rowling, which makes its absence all the more bizarre. Especially since, according to Digital Spyhis interpreter is part of the cast of Dumbledore’s Secrets.

Warner Bros. Pictures

Where is Tina?

Will she be on another mission than her comrades? Is his role in the plot linked to a spoiler that Warner cannot reveal? Will figuring out where she is be one of the issues in the story?

Or does she pay for her positions against the transphobic remarks made by JK Rowling? The comedian first shared an article saying: “Trans women are not a threat to cis women, but we are a threat to them if we turn them into outcasts.”

She then added, in an interview given to The Independent : “Being associated with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, it felt important to communicate my point of view. Because you wonder if you might be associated with another person’s views by association.” And that, for many, would explain his reduced presence in The Secrets of Dumbledore, co-written by JK Rowling and Steve Kloves.

But that might not be the only explanation, as Eddie Redmayne also spoke out against the creator of the universe, and Norbert still seems to be central to the plot even though Dumbledore seems more like the hero of the film. See you on April 13 at the cinema to discover the fate reserved for Porpentina Goldstein.
