The relationship between Prince Harry and Prince William seems shattered, the problems more insurmountable than ever. And this despite the fact that the brothers once made a meaningful promise to their late mother, Princess Diana.

For Princess Diana, † 36, her sons were her everything. How much she was looking forward to the vacation with her boys, how much she enjoyed going on a trip with Harry and William. But one thing was particularly important to her: “You have to promise me that you will always be each other’s best friends,” Diana demanded of her children during their lifetime. “And never let anyone come between you.”

“Never let anyone come between you”

This is what Simone Simmons, a former confidante of Lady Diana, claims in the new version of Robert Laceys, 77, book “Battle of Brothers: William, Harry and the Inside Story of a Family in Tumult”. And she even goes one step further: “Both boys promised they would do it, Simmons said.” They gave each other high fives and cuddled their mother. Everyone would have melted at the sight. Then they went out to play soccer, “Simone Simmons remembers.

A promise that was to be broken a few years later: Since Prince Harry’s retirement as Senior Royal, the move to the USA and the explosive interviews of the Sussexes, the close relationship between Prince Harry, 36, and Prince William, 39, is finally history. Even before that, when Duchess Meghan, 39, and Harry were still living in Kensington Palace, there were all kinds of conflicts.

As Robert Lacey writes in his reveal book, William “kicked Harry out” after Harry simply hung up on a phone call. Another reason is said to have been the behavior of the Sussexes – especially that of Duchess Meghan – towards their employees.

Prince Harry + Prince William: Armistice on Diana’s 60th birthday

In honor of their beloved mother, Prince Harry and Prince William will unveil a new memorial in front of Kensington Palace on July 1, 2021. Royal experts suspect that the two have agreed a “ceasefire” for this special day – Diana’s 60th birthday. Nobody really believes in a reconciliation of the quarreling brothers: Prince William is said to have completely lost trust in Harry. Further talks are currently not pending. Would that be in Princess Diana’s mind?
