Harvey Weinstein: He is said to have been infected with the corona virus

Former film producer Harvey Weinstein (68) is said to have been infected with the corona virus in prison, according to US media reports. The 68-year-old, who was sentenced to 23 years in prison, is currently in solitary confinement, reports, among others, "The Hollywood Reporter". Two inmates had previously tested positive for the virus.

According to the report, the prison confirmed that Weinstein was in solitary confinement. His lawyer did not want to deny or confirm that he had been tested positive for the corona virus. "Page Six", the celebrity page of the "New York Post", meanwhile – like several other US media – reported, citing an official source, that Weinstein's test on Saturday was positive. The former Hollywood producer is in a prison near the city of Buffalo, previously he was on Rikers Island.

23 years in prison

On March 11, Weinstein was sentenced to a total of 23 years in prison for third-degree rape and sexual abuse. A jury had found him guilty at the end of February. The conviction included rape of an actress in 2013 and sexual abuse of a production assistant in 2006.
