Harvey Weinstein: He was sentenced to 23 years in prison

The verdict against Harvey Weinstein (67) has been made: The former Hollywood producer was sentenced to 23 years in prison. On Wednesday (March 11), he appeared in a wheelchair in front of the Manhattan Supreme Court in New York to have his sentence read out. Weinstein has been convicted of third degree rape and sexual abuse. The maximum would have been 29 years.

Suspected victims on the spot

The conviction included the rape of actress Jessica Mann (born 1984) in 2013 and the sexual abuse of production assistant Miriam Haleyi in 2006. Both women and other alleged victims, including actresses Annabella Sciorra (59, "The Sopranos") and Rosie Perez (55), had appeared on the sentence, as reported, among others, "Page Six", the gossip portal of the "New York Post".

Weinstein was found guilty by a jury at the end of February. Since then, he has been in a hospital and a cell in the medical department on the infamous prison island of Rikers Island (New York City). He is also believed to be in jail in the state of New York again.
