Hasbro: The sale of the TV subsidiary is completed

(CercleFinance.com) – Hasbro announced last night that it had finalized the sale of its film and audiovisual production subsidiary eOne to Lionsgate for an amount of $375 million in cash.

The operation, initially formalized this summer, concerns the Renegade and Daisybecksur television studios, as well as the company Entertainment One Canada, which holds a catalog made up of nearly 6,500 titles deemed ‘non-strategic’ such as ‘The Rookie’ , ‘Yellowjackets’ or ‘Naked and Afraid’.

Hasbro noted last August that the transaction excluded, however, its most promising franchises, namely Peppa Pig, Transformers and My Little Pony.

It also does not include the development projects currently being carried out in Hollywood around the worlds of Transformers, GI Joe, Play-Doh, Dungeons & Dragons and Magic The Gathering.

Knowing that Lionsgate will endorse certain loans that had been taken out by the subsidiary, the American toy manufacturer plans to reduce debt to the tune of $400 million.
