Work continues on Blue Skythe alternative to X.com, Mastodon and others Threads. In its version 1.70 currently being deployed, the social network is equipped with essential tools for its future and to always resemble its model a little more.

Recently more federalized and open to all without the need for an invitation code, Bluesky continues on its merry way to catch up with the competition. While Twitter (sorry, X.com!) focuses on audio and video calls, Bluesky embraces more central tools (basic, some would rightly say) to become a true microblogging service.

Hashtags are finally coming to Bluesky

First of all, hashtags (or hashtags in French) are finally arriving. Already usable on third-party applications, but now clickable everywhere, these hashtags allow, like everywhere else, once associated with a keyword, to display your message with all the other messages composed of this same hashtag. Clicking on it allows you to find all the messages that use it, but also to hide them.

This is also one of the other new features of Bluesky: it is now possible to hide hashtags and words. Head to the Moderation menu to adjust this and avoid, for example, having your favorite series spoiled.

Then, in this update 1.70 it is possible to share links and images to Bluesky from the sharing menu of your mobile device. On desktop this time, the web version displays, as on mobile, a new home page with your current feed at the top. Finally, a bug displaying posts under the wrong users has been fixed.
