Unveiled last July, the remake received a new trailer this week, revealing its release date. Haunted House is expected on October 12, 2023 on PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. Boasting an unexpected macabre charm, Haunted House draws inspiration from the classic while incorporating modern features, creating a unique isometric 2D horror experience where stealth and strategy take precedence over thrills.
In Haunted House, players take on the role of Lyn Graves, the niece of famous treasure hunter Zachary Graves. When Lyn learns of her uncle’s disappearance, she goes with her friends to his mansion to investigate. Very quickly, Lyn’s friends will disappear, forcing her to also have to go looking for them. To find Lyn’s uncle and friends, players will have to face moving walls, unpredictable enemies and all kinds of traps to put an end to the ghosts that have infested the mansion. If Lyn succumbs to an evil spirit, players will find themselves at the entrance to the haunted house and will be confronted with an entirely new floor layout and differently arranged enemies ensuring a unique experience with each attempt.
