Haut-Rhin: nearly 2,000 people still gathered in a rave party


This Sunday afternoon, around 2,000 people were still gathered for a rave party, in a meadow located in Guémar, in the Haut-Rhin.

The unauthorized techno party started on the night of Friday to Saturday. The number of participants rose to 4,000 overnight from Saturday to Sunday before decreasing during the day.

According to the prefecture to AFP, “the situation is calm overall and there has been no particular incident so far”.

120 gendarmes mobilized

In total, around 200 people, including 120 gendarmes and around 40 firefighters, are mobilized to ensure security on the premises and carry out checks.

All drivers who leave are checked, “in order to guarantee the protection of the population and compliance with the rules of conduct and safety at the wheel”, specified the prefecture.

Sunday in the middle of the afternoon, some 45 offenses, including 19 offenses mainly of possession of narcotics or driving under narcotics or alcohol, were served.
