Haute-Garonne: a man admits to having strangled and sexually assaulted a jogger


This Thursday in the town of Revel in Haute-Garone, a jogger was attacked. The suspect was arrested.

This Saturday, the attacker confessed to the facts in police custody according to France Blue Occitanie. The 24-year-old suspect took the victim by surprise as she rested after running along a greenway.

The man then strongly strangled her until she lost consciousness before taking her into the bushes and sexually assaulting her.

According to La Dépêche, the young woman says that she was able to escape later thanks to the intervention of a walker who scared the 24-year-old man away.

A clean criminal record

Always according to Dispatch the individual would suffer from intellectual defiance. In addition, acts of intra-family violence already appear on his criminal record, which is therefore not clean.

The man is being prosecuted for attempted homicide and should see his fate determined this Sunday afternoon before the Toulouse court.
