Haute-Saône: the former president of veterans invents decorations and a fake death

Prestigious military life and decorations: the former president of the National Union of Haute-Saône fighters (UNC 70) had invented everything. Unmasked by her peers but very much alive, she had her death notice published, we learned Friday, May 13 from the association.

On May 5, a lapidary obituary appeared in the columns of Est Républicain: “We learn of the sudden death of Josiane F.“, the former president of the UNC 70 freshly dismissed by the office of the association. The news spread quickly in the fighting world, before being denied by his own daughter. “She said to me: “My mother is fine, she is in the South of France”“, Reports Bernard Bret, current departmental president of veterans since the layoff of the interested party last March. Marie-Jeanne Mougin, mayor of Melincourt (Haute-Saône) where the former president lives with her husband also confirmed that “Mrs. Josiane F. is alive, on vacation in the South for a few weeks“.

“She was actually a mythomaniac”

This 57-year-old woman, who passed through the Belfort infantry regiment, was appointed last summer to head UNC 70, previously led by Bernard Bret. Josiane F. claimed prestigious service, claiming numerous decorations – National Order of Merit, Combatant’s Cross, National Defense Medal gold level, title of recognition of the nation, NATO medal for ex -Yugoslavia -, a thesis on crimes in the former Yugoslavia and expertise in cybercrime.

But “everything she told us was wrong, she was actually a mythomaniac“, notes Bernard Bret who, alerted by his questionable management of the 1350 members and the forty sections of the UNC in the department, had finally verified these elements. Bernard Bret also filed a complaint on April 15 against Josiane F. whom he accuses of having been reimbursed by the UNC for significant travel expenses. Summoned last week to the Vesoul police station, she did not show up.
