Hautes-Alpes A man indicted and imprisoned for the murder of his neighbor


A 52-year-old man was indicted and imprisoned this Sunday for the murder of his neighbor, on the night of Friday to Saturday in the Hautes-Alpes, report our colleagues from Dauphine Libere. The man was also indicted for illegal possession of a weapon by an investigating judge from the Grenoble criminal center.

The 50-year-old is suspected of having killed his neighbor, a 63-year-old man, with three bullets during an argument between the two men, on a background of alcohol, which occurred at the victim’s home in the village of Barret-sur- Méouge, said the public prosecutor of Gap, Florent Crouhy. Witnesses who heard the shots around midnight alerted the gendarmerie.

An autopsy of the body of the victim, hit by at least three bullets in the head and chest, is scheduled for Monday at the forensic institute of Grenoble.

The defendant was arrested at his home around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday and had been placed in police custody for “intentional homicide”, said Florent Crouhy. “The alleged perpetrator who was alcoholic could not be heard right away,” said the prosecutor, who relinquished favor of the Grenoble prosecutor’s office.

The investigation was entrusted to the research brigade of the Gap gendarmerie.
