Hautes-Pyrénées: a hiker found dead near the Col du Tourmalet, watched over by his dog


The man fell a hundred meters down an extremely steep slope.

After a whole night of research, mountain CRS found a fifty-something who died on Saturday September 17 on the road to the Col du Tourmalet, in the Hautes-Pyrénées, reports France 3 regions.

According to the local channel, the man had gone hiking the day before, accompanied only by his dog. While the hiker was slow to return, the family warned the emergency services which, due to thick fog, did not immediately manage to locate the missing person.

The following morning, after a 45-minute search by helicopter, the individual, who had fallen a hundred meters down an extremely steep slope, was found dead. By his side was his safe dog, who had watched over him all this time.
