Did you have an orange savings account, formerly nicknamed LEO, or an account with the online bank ING, formerly called ING Direct? In 2022, your bank must have offered you the option to migrate to Boursorama Banque (now BoursoBank), an operation which ended in September 2022.
End of ING in France: 315,000 customers are now with Boursorama Banque
A large part of the 1 million customers had therefore chosen this facilitated gateway. Others closed their accounts directly. At the end of September 2022, 60% of ING current accounts and savings accounts had been closed. The bank stated in the same press release released at the end of September 2022 that by mid-November of the same year, 90% of accounts would be closed.

New step since February 15, 2024 for the end of ING online banking
Obviously, at the end of the procedure, some accounts were still awaiting transfer or closure. ING has put online a page dedicated to late customers : “You were an ING customer and your accounts have been closed. Here you will find the answers to your latest questions. » The brand lists the forms and procedures necessary to recover your assets now that the accounts can no longer be used: the forms are different depending on the type of product.
But one piece of information had gone under the radar: since January 2024, the assets that former customers had in their LEO savings account or in their bank account have migrated to the Caisse des Dépôts. On the portal Ciclade, dedicated to the search for long-forgotten accounts or investments, a section has opened a few weeks ago specifically for ING: “New: search the balance of certain ING private accounts closed in France”, we read on the page of home of Ciclade.fr. Running a search takes you to a form.
As detailed on another page dedicated to ING, on Ciclade, the assets transferred and available on Cicalde (and which are therefore no longer available via ING) on deposits made a few years ago in the savings account or on the bank account, provided however that the balance is positive. “ Searching for these amounts on ciclade.fr has been possible since February 15, 2024. », Specifies the Caisse des Dépôts. The latter will keep them for 30 years, therefore potentially until 2054, before these deposits are definitively returned to the State.
To date, accounts in the red, sums from deceased customers, PEA, securities or life insurance accounts and other disputes still require going through the ING bank.
