Three for the price of one. Alain Souchon could well celebrate his birthday – 80 years – on May 27, on stage, in front of the public… and surrounded by his two grown sons. As they officially announced to the newspaper The Parisian, Alain, Charles and Pierre Souchon are indeed embarking on a family tour, as the Dutroncs or the Chedids did before them. The launch will take place on May 7, 2024 in Vésinet, in Yvelines, and the trio should hit the roads for around a year and a half.
Alain Souchon will sing, with Charles – alias Ours – and Pierre in theaters, prestigious halls, festivals. They will notably stop for a week at the Casino de Paris next November and will participate, before that, in the Francofolies de La Rochelle on July 13. In total, around a hundred dates are planned… and it was the patriarch’s doctor who had the idea for this new adventure. “I went to see him because I was feeling a bit slacksays Laurent Voulzy’s great friend. He gave me a straight prescription: Take some vitamins and take a tour with your two guys. He knew we had already done concerts together, obviously.”
They had united their voices during charity evenings and television shows. This pushed them to follow the medical instructions of specialists. “Always listen to doctorsadds Pierre Souchon. And we were comforted by the nice feedback from people who told us that the three of us moved them and we told something.”
Married to the discreet Françoise for many years, Alain Souchon is the father of two children who make him proud and who have largely followed his path. He had already collaborated with Charles and Pierre, in 2019, on the album Soul Fifties. “VSIt’s another commitment to go on tour for a year and a halfunderlines Charles Souchon. That’s less time for our personal projects. But it happened naturally. My father didn’t want to go on tour again, except with his sons, that amused him. We wanted to get together and spend time together. And he never did this format.”
