Like every year, the agricultural show opened its doors at the Paris exhibition center this Saturday, February 25. And like almost every year, Philippe Etchebest freed up a few hours from his overloaded schedule to attend the event. For the occasion, RTL radio also set up an ephemeral set in the middle of the show to host an exceptional program. And of course, the most famous chef in France was invited to discuss at the microphone of Jade and Eric Dussart.
Thus, during the program On refait la télé, Philippe Etchebest was questioned on many subjects, in particular on his beginning of his career as a starred chef. An opportunity that allowed him to welcome the former President of the Republic, Jacques Chirac, in one of his establishments. It was in 2002 and Philippe Etchebest had just received his first star in the Michelin guide. So, of course, he remembers it very well.

From that day, the presenter of Cauchemar en cuisine keeps many anecdotes, including the fact that Jacques Chirac liked to eat his bread… burnt. “He liked to eat! There’s something that surprised me, it was that he ate the burnt baguette! But black! I had baked it in the oven and his chief of staff told me it wasn’t baked enough for him“, Philippe Etchebest first exclaimed at the microphone of RTL during this excellent interview.
“In any case, he had a good fork. And what surprised me even more was that he ate quite quickly. And from the moment he had finished, everyone had to be cleared away. There was a timing to respect. He was the one who set the tempo and he ate quickly. We had to follow behind and it was very funny”, also unveiled Philippe Etchebest, who will certainly remember this anecdote until the end of his life.
