Life sometimes does not give us a gift. And that, Richard Bohringer knows only too well. In the spring of 2014, the actor who celebrates this Monday, January 16, 2023 his 81st birthday was rushed to hospital in Clermont-Ferrand while he was performing on stage alongside his daughter Romane. The verdict falls: he is suffering fromcancer of the nervous system. In an interview given to Sunday newspaperin 2017, he had thus assured to return “swamps of hell”: “You’re spending six months at the Salpêtrière with brain cancer, you’re dying, you don’t know how you’re going to get out of it. And there, everything seems vain to you, even a book. I had the right to everything, septic shock, pleurisy, loss of memory, of speech, days and days on a drip. It left terrible marks on my loved ones…”

After several years of struggle, star’s daughter of great way, Romane Bohringer, had confirmed in 2018 with Gala the healing of his illustrious father : “He’s a hell of a fighter. It was a big blow, but he pulled it off quite miraculously.” And to add to Télé Star: “He was brave.” In addition to the support from loved onesRichard Bohringer was also able to count on his unwavering passion for the theater which pushed him to fight even more: “I strongly believe in the virtues of theatre. So if he’s been back for a while the way to film sets and that of the boards, it is nonetheless marked by this “accident” of life, as he had mentioned to Télé Star in 2017, on the occasion of the broadcast of the TV movie Tensions on Cap Corse : “This film is the first shoot I did after the accident. In a magnificent country, Corsica, with an extravagant people that I really like and a great team that has helped me a lot. I am still deeply touched, because I have come a long way.”
