A new trial targeting Jonathann Daval opens Friday January 12, 2024 before the Besançon court, this time for “slanderous denunciation”. Convicted of the murder of his wife Alexia Daval in 2017, the accused is summoned to appear in court by his in-laws. Indeed, Jonathann Daval had initially accused his brother-in-lawGrégory Gay, of the murder of Alexia, before returning to his confession in June 2018. Jonathann Daval’s mother, made her sentence known in her interview given to Paris Match. “I want them to stop asking for money. I wish everything would stop, let my son be left alone. I am tired”, she whispered. Despite the court summons, Jonathann Daval does not plan to attend the hearings. According to Martine Henry, his mother, the initial trial having been extremely difficult, he does not wish to be exposed again.
