Nicolas Bedos has been the target of an investigation for rape and sexual assault since July 2023. The 44-year-old filmmaker was heard as a free suspect during a hearing which took place last week, as reported by our colleagues from Midi Libre.
On June 12, we learned that Nicolas Bedos was the target of a complaint filed by a woman he had met a few days earlier in a nightclub. A little over a month later, Médiapart revealed that the 44-year-old filmmaker was the subject of an investigation entrusted to the 1st judicial police district (DPJ), after the filing of 3 new complaints: “one for ‘rape and sexual assault’, the other two for ‘sexual assault'”.
It is in this context that the director Nicolas Bedos was questioned last week as a free suspectas reported this Wednesday, December 6, 2023, by our colleagues from Free Midday. It is the staff of the 1st judicial police district, who have already conducted the hearings of the four women at the origin of the reports targeting the actor, who heard Nicolas Bedos, according to a source close to the case. Unlike police custody, this form of interview allows people suspected to be interviewed by investigators while having the possibility of leaving the place of the interview at any time.

As a reminder, the son of Guy Bedos is already summoned in February 2024 before the Paris criminal court for sexual assault while drunk. Still according to this source close to the file cited by Free Middaythe behavior of Nicolas Bedos mentioned during the two reports shared in July with the investigators is likely to be the subject of a criminal classification.
As the newspaper reports, several accounts accuse the filmmaker and actor of similar facts. One of the reports was made by an actress and screenwriter now aged around fifty. She accuses Nicolas Bedos of having raped her at the Bedos family home, located in Neuilly-sur-Seine (Hauts-de-Seine), during one night in 1999. At the time of the facts with which the actor is accused, the woman was 26 years old: she explains having agreed to follow Nicolas Bedos with whom she had formed a “form of friendly relationship”.

Another report for events which allegedly occurred in 2017 also targets the forty-year-old. If no complaint was filed by the two women, 1st DPJ investigators nevertheless have the possibility of ordering prosecutions if deemed necessary. At present, the prosecution has not communicated on the ongoing investigation procedures.
