A man had the brilliant idea of checking whether or not the trunk of his Cybertruck would close on his finger. The worst part is that just before, he tried with a piece of wood which was cut in two before his eyes. Sensitive souls refrain.
The Cybertruck, 100% electric pickup truck from Tesla, has been the subject of the craziest experiments since its release in the United States. Many of its owners mistreat it in one way or another, for example by shooting the vehicle with a shotgun. The general idea is to demonstrate how durable and secure it is. Between its futuristic tank look and its armored glass windows that resist thieves, it must be said that it doesn’t appear to fear much.
But there is one specific point on which opinions are much more divided: is the automatic closing system doors and trunks of the Cybertruck are a danger to our fingers? A video using sausages, carrots and even bananas shows that it is better not to leave them lying around too close to the vehicle. Never mind, some wanted to check it out for themselvesand without sacrificing any fruit or vegetable.
Letting the Cybertruck’s front trunk close on your finger is dangerous, evidence
YouTuber Joe Fay publishes a video in which he places his arm, his hand, then his finger at the level of the “frunk”, the front trunk of the Cybertruck, as it closes. In all 3 cases, the pickup detects the obstacle and goes back immediately. End of story then? No way. Bystanders start claiming ‘finger test’ is invalid : Joe Fay would have slightly pushed the “frunk” upwards to force its reopening. The man will not allow himself to be treated like this.
In a new “short” to watch below, he explains that he will “put your finger completely flat against the Cybertruck this time“. Spoiler: things go wrong, as they say on the platform. The trunk continues its journey quietly and driver inherits a broken finger. For safety, we will come back. This type of video is unfortunately not uncommon. Hopefully this will get people to stop and Tesla to roll out an update to prevent this from happening again.
