He orders a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti and receives a pair of shoes, the scams continue

Scammers aren’t done with Nvidia graphics cards yet. It is still quite risky to order a model on the Internet, as a player recently had the unfortunate experience. In the box he received at his home, no GeForce RTX, but rather a pair of shoes.

We know that ordering a product on the Internet is not without risk. As soon as we venture outside of trusted sites (and again), we are not immune to having a little surprise in the box which will arrive a few days later. There is no shortage of stories of this type, especially with recent products. A few months ago, we told you about this user who received an Android smartphone disguised as an iPhone 15 Pro Max.

On the other hand, the thing is more surprising when it comes to older products. Scams were legion when the Geforce RTX 3000 was released – especially since the shortage of components was raging at the time – but the scammers quickly moved on to the new generation once it was available. Which doesn’t stop some people from continuing their little schemes, and buyers from being fooled.

Not sure if these shoes run the latest AAA

On X (Twitter), the leaker I_Leak_VN shares the misadventure of one of his friends, who ordered a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti on a Thai site. The rest of the story, you know it. Opening the box, which from the outside shows no suspicious signs, he discovers not the graphics card, but a pair of shoes. To better disguise his scam, the seller filled the vacant space with foam.

In his misfortune, the buyer will not even be able to use or resell said shoes, as they appear rather worn. Worse still, the latter has no recourse to obtain reimbursement. The seller has obviously hidden his identity and certainly has several accounts preventing him from being detected. As always, always be careful about what you buy on the web and always favor trusted sites.
