“He runs the house”: why the choice of Bruce Toussaint was obvious for TF1: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

The television transfer window is never really over… After the departure of Sophie Davant fromDeal donethe arrival of Laurent Ruquier on BFMTV and the poaching of Pascale de la Tour du Pin by Cyril Hanouna, another PAF figure, surprised everyone. On October 5, 2023, TF1 announced the arrival of Bruce Toussaint. Came from BFMTV where he had worked since 2018, the journalist accepted a major challenge : that of presenting a morning show on the first channel. “The creation of this new program is a further illustration of the ambition of the TF1 group in information and its desire to strengthen the close link with the public”rejoiced Thierry Thuillier, deputy general director of information for the TF1 group, in a communicated. For him, the choice of Bruce Toussaint was obvious. “He ticks all the boxes. […] Today, I can’t separate the word ‘morning’ from the name Bruce Toussainthe explained to West France on October 6, 2023. He really runs the house and he does a very good job.” Thierry Thuillier was especially seduced by “his character traits”her “form of good nature, kindness, even gentleness, which corresponds to the unifying information that we want to offer”.

Bruce Toussaint’s morning will be “warm, smiling”

What convinced him to poach Bruce Toussaint? “He knows how to host a set. He is a journalist and presenter. He seemed obvious. The French know him well, and internally we see him arriving with a very good eye”. Contacted by TF1 only a few days ago, the journalist did not hesitate for a single second to accept this proposal. “He told me that such an ambitious project on France’s leading channel is still very stimulating. Even if it will make him get up very early”, joked the group’s deputy general director of information to our colleagues. For the moment, no precise date has been announced for the start of this large-scale morning event. What we do know, however, is that it will last “three hours” and that she will be “warm, smiling, in a good mood, with a kind of kindness, and close to people”. As was the 13 hours by Jean-Pierre Pernaut, Bruce Toussaint’s show will also be “very anchored in the regions”, according to Thierry Thuillier. And that the regulars of TF1 can be reassured: the channel’s youth programs as well as teleshopping will not disappear.
