REPORTING – The 13-year-old schoolboy committed suicide in January after being subjected to school harassment for five months. His relatives and anonymous people gathered in his memory, “without political recovery”.

This Sunday, February 5, the city center of Épinal, in the Vosges, is deserted. Impossible to suspect that, place Foch, just behind the Saint-Maurice basilica, several hundred people found themselves in the greatest silence, in tribute to the young Lucas. On January 7, the schoolboy killed himself after having experienced several months of school harassment in connection with his sexual orientation.

Displaying a large patchwork of family photos and portraits of Lucas, his mother, Séverine, leads the procession, surrounded by her loved ones. Nearly 550 people are present, according to a police source. “It warms the heart to see everyone despite the weather. There is a real shared emotion and a will to act“, indicates to the Figaro Me Catherine Faivre, Lucas’ mother’s lawyer.
