A man has pleaded guilty to trying to hire a killer to murder his wife on Thursday, March 16. He had gone to an undercover FBI agent to handle the murder.
Massimo Marenghi, 56, pleaded guilty to “murder by proxy“on Thursday March 16, according to the united states attorneys office for the district of Massachusetts in a press release. Indeed, this man had tried tohire a killer to murder his wife. Unfortunately for him, he had turned, unwittingly, to an undercover federal agent. It all started when wife of Massimo Marenghi requested a restraining order against him. Deciding to act, he then asked the undercover agent to kill herin January 2021.
Federal agents told the New York Post that the two men had then agreed on a price of $10,000 to solve this problem. Subsequently, Massimo Marenghi provided the agent with a great deal of information, such as a photograph of the residence of his wife or the ways of avoiding surveillance. This father had even paid a deposit of $1,500 to his alleged killer. In order to facilitate the assassination of his wife, Massimo Marenghi had also provided pictures of her to the undercover agent along with details of his car.
He faces 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
In its impetus, Massimo Marenghi also provided the child care schedule. According to him, when the children were with him would be the best time to take action. According MirrorTHE “murder-for-hire” is subject to a penalty of 10 years imprisonment. In addition to the prison sentence, the sentence also counts a three-year probation as well as a fine of up to $250,000. Massimo Marenghi’s sentencing is scheduled for June 8.
