“He was going to shoot me on stage”, the singer shares her serious concerns

Lorie is back in music with an EP bringing together several of her hits re-recorded with personalities who grew up with her. The opportunity for the artist to remember her beginnings and to discuss the death threats of which she had been the victim.

Lorie rediscovers his first love: music. The artist, now 41 years old, came to prominence in the early 2000s with several hits including I will stay (Your best friend), All alone Or Near me, before evolving in other universes which propelled her on stage in the theater and on television. She publishes this week a five-track EP bringing together brand new versions of some of these hymns, like On a Latin tune, totally reinvented with artists who grew up listening to it. This is the case of the singer Ade (Therapie Taxi) whose voice can be heard on I need Love, Bilal Hassani on Playor Piche (Drag Race France 2), already seen recently in the clip How about we go out tonight by Jenifer.

Nina’s mother came to promote this EP entitled Hyper Lorie Vol. 1 on the set of Click (Canal +) on Thursday January 25. The opportunity for her to go back in time and evoke some memories of her singing career, both happy and more complicated. Indeed, facing Mouloud Achour, she revealed that she had been worried by death threats younger.

Lorie took these threats very seriously

Lorie came to recall a distressing sequence after discussing the film Bodyguard by Mick Jackson with the host. “I had a bodyguard”she said, before giving the precise reasons. “I received letters with death threats. Just before doing a concert, I received bouquets of flowers in my dressing room, and the little note was: ‘Enjoy this concert’. Basically , the guy told me he was going to shoot me on stageshe explained, visibly serene even though at the time she didn’t really find it “funny” at all.

Very worried about her safety, the artist then shared this information with the rest of her team. I was really freaked out that dayshe added, before continuing: “I told my dancers: ‘if you see a red dot at any given moment, you tell me’”. Mouloud Achour then moved on by talking about harassment on social networks, one of the scourges of our decade, which Lorie had not been confronted with in her time. “I would have adapted and done the right thing”, she was willing to admit. It is in this context that the singer finally remembered the fan club created in her honor: “You had to subscribe, you had your card… Every month there was a newsletter that arrived in the post with photos of everything I had done, the summaries…. It was different. It was a different time!she concluded, before mentioning again theendometriosis which she suffered to raise awareness and change mentalities.
