From 1991 to 2008, Cristiana Reali and Francis Huster formed one of the most famous couples on the small screen. Parents of Élisa and Toscane Rose, in 1998 and 2003, the lovers had to go through several trials during these seventeen years of relationship, particularly concerning their status at the time of their love at first sight. And for good reason at the time, the pretty brunette with crystal blue eyes was the student of Francis Huster who was then a theater professor at Cours Florent. Interviewed on Europe 1, the 58-year-old actress gave some anecdotes concerning their love story and also wanted to explain that their romance only began once she had finished classes.

“The story began once I was no longer at Cours Florent!” she confided straight away before being interrupted by Isabelle Morizet, host of the show. There is not only one life in life :“It seems he was madly in love before.” Sometimes jealous by the other students who must have sensed a certain preference from their teacher towards Cristiana Reali said: “It wasn’t easy because there was surely a problem with being Francis’ girlfriend, that’s for sure. He was my teacher, plus he was very courted at the time. He was the bachelor that no one couldn’t get it right. And then, what’s more, he was starting a troupe, so we played together a lot (…) It wasn’t very well seen, I think, by the students, by the young actors and actresses. “She’s still a student who was with a teacher! Even if we were no longer in class.”

The jealousy suffered by Cristiana Reali

A romantic relationship which sometimes even caused harm to Cristiana Reali. “I realized very, very quickly that people didn’t see me as an actress as long as I was playing with him. It was as if I wasn’t legitimate,” she confided. Accused by some of having experienced a certain favoritism due to her love affair with Francis Huster, Cristiana Reali took a while before being considered a real actress.

“I didn’t see the problem, but apparently, it stopped people from approaching me. And I had to be nominated once to the Molières – with him, eh! – for people to relax a little . And they started to offer me Tennessee Williams, etc. While he had a troupe at that time where there were five-six actors with whom he worked systematically and that posed no problem.” she concluded.
