He was smoking – five-year-old drowned in the thermal baths: Dad accused

After the drama in the Sonnentherme Lutzmannsburg in March, where little Dunija drowned, the father is now being charged with grossly negligent homicide. The five-year-old non-swimmer went into a deep pool of water without a swimming aid while her father from Vienna was smoking. However, the proceedings against the thermal baths manager and the lifeguard at the time were discontinued.

The man must not have been with the child for at least 20 minutes when it jumped into deep water alone and without water wings. In the smoking area, he and his companion had no view of the spot near the torrent pool where they had left Dunija and another little girl. A bather then noticed the girl floating in the water. Despite first aid and resuscitation measures, it later died in the Donaustadt Clinic in Vienna. Accusation: attention and care grossly negligently ignored The father is now accused of grossly negligently ignoring the attention and care required as a supervisor. This would have led to the child drowning. On the other hand, there is no evidence of a breach of due diligence on the part of the managing director of the Sonnentherme and the lifeguard. These investigations have been discontinued.
