A fatal accident occurred on the Emberger Alm in Greifenburg.
A paraglider from Germany was hit by a gust of wind shortly after take-off and the glider collapsed. The pilot managed to stabilize again. Shortly thereafter, however, he was hit again by a gust, the 57-year-old fell into a “spiral fall” and fell about eleven meters onto an alpine pasture interspersed with rootstocks. His friend rushed to help. All attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful. He succumbed to severe head injuries.
