Head-on collision – car driver (53) crashed into oncoming traffic and died

On the Haller Bundesstraße in Thaur in Tyrol on Thursday a driver got into the opposite lane and crashed into oncoming cars. Balance of the horror accident: one dead and three injured.

On Thursday at 12:14 p.m., a 53-year-old Austrian drove a car in the municipality of Thaur on the B 171 in the direction of Innsbruck. For an unexplained cause, he went off to the left of his lane, crossed the green median and crashed head-on into the car of a 43-year-old Austrian who was carrying a 41-year-old Austrian as a passenger on the opposite lane. As a result, there was another collision with a car that was driven by a 56-year-old Austrian.Reanimation unsuccessfulThe 53-year-old, seriously injured Austrian died, despite the resuscitation carried out by passers-by immediately after the accident and later by the rescue workers who arrived The three other injured people were taken to the UNI clinic Innsbruck and the KH Hall. Road closed for hours The B171 was closed for about four hours due to the clearing up work and preservation of evidence. The FFW Hall and Thauer, the Red Cross with the NAH and several vehicles, the crisis intervention team and the police were in action. Once the surveys have been completed, a report will be sent to the competent authorities.
