Head-on collision – seriously injured in accident on Ennstalstrasse

On Sunday afternoon there was a head-on collision on the Ennstal federal road near Assach, in which three people were injured, some seriously. Three fire brigades, police and rescue services, including a helicopter, were dispatched. It is not yet known why the two cars collided.

Three fire departments (Pruggern, Assach and Gröbming) had to respond to a serious traffic accident on Sunday afternoon. Two cars collided head-on near Assach on the notorious Ennstal federal road B 320. One car was driven by a 49-year-old German woman, with her husband (52) in the vehicle. She crossed into the oncoming lane, hit an embankment and then collided head-on with the car of a 69-year-old woman from eastern Styria. Rescue helicopter on siteAs it turned out, three passengers were injured, some seriously. The rescue service and fire department worked together to provide first aid. The two Germans were transported to Schladming hospital with injuries of an unspecified degree. The 69-year-old suffered serious injuries, she had to be given first aid by the emergency doctor at the scene of the accident and then flown to the Salzburg hospital by rescue helicopter.The police set up a traffic diversion via an accompanying road, the fire department tied up the operating equipment and provided adequate fire protection.
