What is healing earth?

Healing earth is a mineral powder that is widely used in natural medicine. The natural product is made from finely ground loess. These are calcareous deposits that formed during the Ice Age. Depending on the mining area, healing earth can have a different composition of minerals and trace elements. Among other things, magnesium, calcium, aluminum and sodium salts as well as silica, silicon, iron oxide, phosphates and manganese compounds are represented.

In order to be able to use healing clay in a targeted manner, one should make sure that the product is specially written out for the specific application in each case. Due to the different composition of the different healing earths, the same mode of action cannot generally be assumed. Depending on the product, it is specifically noted for which area of ​​application the healing earth can be used. Healing earth is available in health food stores, pharmacies and drug stores.

Proper use of healing clay

The external application of healing earth contributes to an improvement of the skin’s appearance and therefore works on blemished skin, acne, blackheads and oily skin as well as oily hair. Internal use is possible, for example, in the case of indigestion, diarrhea, an irritated bowel or heartburn – although the earth must be written out specifically for the respective area of ​​application.

Due to the different composition of the healing earth products the internal mode of action can be different. The instructions for use should always be studied in this regard.

  • Certain healing earth can be used to neutralize stomach acid and thus be used for heartburn.
  • In addition, healing earth has swellable substances, which is why it can alleviate diarrhea.
  • The toxin-binding properties can also be useful internally, for example in inflammatory bowel diseases.

What are the side effects of healing clay?

The following side effects can occur when using healing clay:

  • Externally, allergic reactions can occur in very rare cases.
