Maybe you know the feeling before you have to give an important presentation in front of a group that you suddenly feel sick and your stomach turns. This phenomenon has an explanation. Our brain and our digestive tract are connected to each other by a highly complex network of nerves, hormones and messenger substances. This connection enables mutual influences between the gut and the brain that can influence our well-being.
