Heart of Chornobyl pushed back once again – Gamosaurus

While we could admire new unpublished images of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl only a few hours ago, it seems that we still have to be patient before we get more. Indeed, in a communicated on its X account – formerly Twitter – GSC Game World announces a new postponement for its title and is now aiming for a release on September 5, 2024.

The reason given is quite simple,
STALKER 2 is not ready. The feedback received during Gamescom 2023 only confirmed what the studio feared. The game still needs a lot of fine-tuning, particularly on a technical level, to meet players’ expectations. Aware of the scale of the task, GSC therefore made the decision to once again postpone the release of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl.

“Recognizing the extent of the polish and understanding that we cannot overextend players’ patience, we committed to releasing the game in the first quarter of 2024, and have worked very hard to meet this release window. However, this doesn’t change the fact that at the start of this year, we are still seeing some technical imperfections that keep STALKER 2 below the expected standards for the final experience our fans expect. »

GSC Game World press release

A postponement of several months which undoubtedly puts the patience of certain players to the test but which should therefore allow the studio to refine its title as best as possible. STALKER 2 should therefore see the light of day on September 5, 2024 on PC and Xbox Series. Remember that the game will also be available in Game Pass upon its release.
