Hearthstone: The Heart of the Sunken City expansion is available

Out for a few short days now, the latest expansion for HearthstoneIn the Heart of the Sunken Citytotally shakes up the meta of the game by bringing a bunch of new maps putting the world of the sea (and that of piracy on top of that) in the spotlight.

With his 135 new cards, the extension can possibly be a gateway to start Blizzard’s title (or resume after a long break as was our case), not to mention a few other fun things that allow you to vary the pleasures. Let us first specify that this new content takes us to the depths of the seas and more precisely to the lost city of Zin-Azhari.

Among the big news, we have the addition ofa new type of minion: Nagas. They are vengeful, destructive and cursed for eternity. Many cards, for example, give bonuses when you keep spells in your hand. This is a permanent addition to Hearthstone.

We also note two new keywords with Colossal and Dragage :

  • “Colossal” cards can be seen as “Exodia the Cursed” upside down. These are monsters so gigantic that it takes several cards to create the whole monster (and therefore its artwork). The members act in synergy with their body which makes it possible to launch powerful attacks. Suffice to say that it is a must-have for the majority of competitive decks.
  • “Dredge” cards allow you to look at the three cards at the bottom of your deck, then choose one to place on top of it. Knowing that other cards allow you to place cards from your deck directly at the bottom of the latter, this new synergy is very practical for making a hand with small onions.

To counter the Nagas a bit, Blizzard offers players the “Okani Blademaster” for free. You get it automatically by logging into the game. Head over to this link for a full overview of all the new maps (spoiler alert). Having been able to play a few matches on our side, we see that “ In the Heart of the Sunken City” comes to put a big kick in the anthill with regard to the meta which must still be refined. Indeed, the big players are still trying to find the best combos and the most effective counters to compose the most powerful decks.

Again, it’s abouta great opportunity to resume the card game after a long absence or even start from scratch. Hearthstone is available free to play on PC, iOS and Android.
