25 years after the cult film, Michael Mann confirms the project of a sequel to the cinema, on which he has been working for several years. But who will make up the cast?
More than 25 years after the release of Heat, a sequel project is still in the works. The subject has been mentioned several times, because Michael Mann has signed a book sequel to it which will be released this summer. It is precisely this book that should be adapted to the cinema, as reported Empirewho was able to speak with the filmmaker.
“It’s totally planned to become a movie“, indicated Michael Mann in the columns of the magazine. “Will it be a modest film? No. Will it be a big budget series? No. It will be an ambitious film.“
The project is well and truly launched, but a real question arises. What about the cast? How to make a sequel more than 25 years later when its main actors have inevitably aged, in this case Al Pacino, Robert de Niro, without forgetting Val Kilmer. We know, moreover, that the book which will serve as the basis for the film project, situates its plot both before and after the first Heat, thus taking up the principle of the Godfather sequel.

Heat was released in France on February 21, 1996 and attracted nearly 1.5 million viewers.
