Heat wave in France: Marc Hay, weather journalist for BFMTV, gives an astonishing rant live (video)

While many French departments are on heat wave alert in the middle of June, BFMTV weather journalist Marc Hay gave an astonishing rant in full live.

The French are hot. Very hot. In the middle of June, many French departments were placed on heatwave alert, and especially along the Atlantic coast. The 12 departments in red vigilance are Charente, Charente-Maritime, Haute-Garonne, Gers, Gironde, Landes, Lot-et-Garonne, Deux-Sèvres, Tarn, Tarn-et-Garonne , Vendée and Vienne. Temperatures will exceed 40°C.

While a heat wave had never arrived so early in France, this is the fourth time this device has been used on our territory since the historic one of 2003, which killed more than 15,000 people. Logically invited on the set of BFMTV, Marc Hay, the weather specialist of the first continuous news channel spoke at length about this exceptional climatic incident. And the least we can say is that his conclusion was beyond measure.

Marc Hay: “People have to understand that France is going to burn”

After presenter Maxime Switek told him his tone had changed, Marc Hay wanted to say everything he thought. “The goal is not to scare. But I decided a few days ago to stop using my usual tone and to arrive on set to say that France was going to be affected by a heat wave. I think it doesn’t work anymore. People have to understand that France is going to burn this week“.

And he continued. “I’ve had people in Toulouse tell me they’re suffocating. Yes, we are suffocating. That’s crazy. 40-42 degrees in the southwest in mid-June… I think we need to change the way we talk about it. People need to realize that this is just the tip of the iceberg. What happened in 2019 is happening again and will happen again. Summer has only just begun and this is only going to get worse.”
