Heating with electricity – price caps for heat pumps and the like are still in place

Salzburg AG wants to finalize the solution for customers who heat with electricity by the end of the month.

In the state parliament on Wednesday, inflation is again a big topic. The SPÖ submits an application with six points, which “Krone” reported. The FPÖ has also submitted a general motion that the state government in Vienna should work for a “tangible relief package”. Before Christmas, Salzburg AG announced additional relief for customers with heat pumps and night storage heaters. The federal government’s electricity price brake only partially applies to these customers because they heat with electricity. In addition to the 2900 kilowatt hours of the general electricity price brake, there is a price cap for a further 2900 kilowatt hours for customers who heat with electricity. The details of the process are now being worked out. “By the end of January, customers should be actively informed of how they can take advantage of the support,” says Salzburg AG. The new boss Michael Baminger has been at the helm there since last week and is currently doing an introductory tour of the departments. His predecessor Leonhard Schitter took office at Energie AG in Upper Austria.
