In a few days, Heidi Klum will be presenting the 16th season of "Germany's Next Top Model". Now she spoke about her diverse field of candidates.

In a few days the ProSieben casting show "Germany's next top model" will start a new season for the 16th time. Model mom Heidi Klum (47) spoke in the run-up to the first episode about the composition of the 31 candidates who are more diverse this year than in the past. "It has always been important to me to give girls as diverse as possible the chance to become 'Germany's next top model'", says Klum.

By now the "GNTM" viewers would hopefully know that the show doesn't just have to be blonde and blue-eyed: "Diversity is very important to me." In general, she is looking for "a girl who has star appeal", who can "transform herself like a chameleon" but remains "authentic". "I want to see the joy of the job in their eyes and be enchanted myself," said Klum.

In the first show, the candidates run for Heidi Klum and her jury in the Berlin Theater on Potsdamer Platz. The fashion designer Manfred Thierry Mugler will also take a seat next to her. He is an "icon of the fashion scene", according to Klum: "I am pleased that he will pass on his knowledge to my girls right at the start." It starts on February 4, 2021, every Thursday at 8:15 p.m. on ProSieben.
