Heidi Klum has been in the modeling business for 30 years. Now she has spoken about her secret to success and satisfaction with her body.
Heidi Klum (50) has been in the modeling and TV business for 30 years. In a new interview with “Style Watch”, the fashion magazine of the US magazine “People”, the “Germany’s Next Top Model” juror has now spoken in detail about her career and her secret to success as a model, entrepreneur and entertainer. And by the way, she revealed how she likes her husband Tom Kaulitz (34) best – namely without clothes.

“Tom definitely looks best naked,” she says with a laugh in the “People” interview. In her opinion, the musician looks good in everything, but he feels a bit too “chubby” at the moment. But Klum, in contrast to Kaulitz, thinks that’s a good thing, as she says herself: “I love it when he’s a little chubby, to be honest. I’m 50. I don’t want him to be 34 and super fit. I want him “Nobody who spends all day worrying about their muscles. For me, it’s manly when there’s something more to it.”
In the last few years, since she met Tom Kaulitz, she has become less strict with her own body image. “When he met me, he said: ‘You can always eat a little more.'” She was much thinner then than she is today. “I guess I’ve been exercising more. I’ve been running around outside, jogging and all that kind of stuff. Over the last few years, and especially since I met him, I’ve just become more relaxed.”
She feels comfortable with her body
According to her own statements, she is very satisfied with her body. “I feel very comfortable naked today,” said Heidi Klum. Preferably topless in the garden. “I just don’t like tan lines because I wear so many different outfits. I don’t want tan lines showing anywhere. It’s very strategic.”
As openly as she speaks about being naked, Klum clearly speaks out against counting calories in the interview. “I’m not a calorie counter,” said the 50-year-old. “I’ve never done that. I’ve always been lucky in that I’ve never been obsessed with counting calories or anything.” She firmly rejects rumors or headlines on the subject: “If it really affects other people, if they might get sick because they follow something stupid that someone came up with, then I get upset.”
Heidi Klum’s career secret
In the interview, Heidi Klum also honestly looks back on the beginning of her career 30 years ago. “I was never really one of the big supermodels back then,” she says of her beginnings in the fashion industry in the 1990s. “The designers back then always said: ‘You’re too commercial, you’ll never end up on a real magazine cover.'” At castings for fashion shows, she was always too tall to fit into the clothes. “You weren’t lying! I remember going to Paris and trying on all these dresses. I never fit into them. And I was skinny, but they were even skinnier. So I never got those jobs.”
She then looked for other ways to pursue a career as a model. “I always kept in mind what I really wanted to do and pursued that,” said Klum. “I’ve always thought of my career as a house where you don’t just need the front door to get in. I always thought, ‘Okay, they don’t want me here for fashion. I’ll go to other areas of the world.'” Her Soon after, the springboard was the cover of “Sports Illustrated” and an engagement for the shows of the lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret.
