On June 1st, Heidi Klum, one of Germany’s biggest celebrities, celebrates her 50th birthday. Five facts about the top model…

One of Germany’s most famous top models turns 50. In addition to the well-known facts about Heidi Klum, her ProSieben show “Germany’s next top model”, her relationships or her life in America, there are also some points that may not be familiar to everyone…

Does Heidi Klum have siblings?

Few people know that Heidi Klum has a half-brother who was born in 1964 and comes from a previous relationship with her mother Erna Klum, who is also a trained hairdresser. But as is well known, Heidi Klum largely keeps her family life out of the public eye. She only showed her eldest daughter Leni Klum (19) in December 2020 in front of the camera for the first time. The two then posed for the cover of German “Vogue”.

She starred in these series and films

In addition to her modeling projects, Heidi Klum has appeared in well-known films and series several times, mostly playing herself. For example, she was in an episode of “Sex and the City”, “Malcolm in the Middle”, “How I Met Your Mother” or “Desperate Housewives” in front of the camera. But she also had cameo appearances in the films “The Devil Wears Prada” (2006) and “Ocean’s 8” (2018).

Two citizenships

Heidi Klum was born on June 1, 1973 in Bergisch Gladbach, where she grew up and did her Abitur. After her modeling career got rolling in 1992 by winning a competition on the RTL show “Gottschalk Late Night”, she moved to the United States of America. Klum has lived in the USA since 1993, and for a few years she has been living with her husband Tom Kaulitz (33) and their four children in a villa in Los Angeles. Klum has therefore also had US citizenship since 2008.

She loves German home cooking

However, her love of German food never waned due to her new adopted country. Dumplings, knuckle of pork, potato salad and sausages are still among Klum’s favorite dishes. “There’s nothing I love more than a big, fat, German sausage,” she said in 2018 on the entertainment show “America’s Got Talent,” the counterpart to the German “Das Supertalent.” Klum also passed on her love of German home cooking to her daughter Leni.

Your legs are insured

“Some people do strange things,” said Heidi Klum in early 2022, when she was a guest of US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres (65). and talked about the fact that her agent had insured both of her legs – for two million euros. Since she fell into broken glass as a child, her left leg is worth around 200,000 euros less than her right leg because of a scar on her knee.
